• Recession looks like it'll last most of 2009 – A story I'm hearing over and over is end of Q2-or-into-Q4 for the recession in the US, varying a bit by region.
• The future requires investment and that may mean research – And if you're any kind of geek, you can see that more spending on research means more jobs for scientists, engineers, and such.  This also shows just how much further the US has – and can – go to improve its use of technology.
• Some thoughts from the 'Long Tail' author on free, fremium, and more – With analysis.

• Layoffs.  LA Times.  The usual.  Sigh.

Technology

• Human error temporarily causes Google to list every site as dangerous.  Seriously bad publicity, but they owned right up to it.  As a side thought – if you're in high tech business, just how much work is there in PR?

And in the what the heck category, Neon Genesis Evangelion inspired  . . . clothes.  As they are one-pieces, I could make more jokes, but i won't.
