Whoa, September first is tomorrow? I've got to rush to King's Cross station to be at Platform 9 3/4 before 11 tomorrow morning. But first, a review of the past month.
The YA Project
The website is about done. A little tweaking here and there will be required as things go on, but I’d say I can check that off the list. That, and I’ve got some extra time on hand, as someone else is running late with their piece of the puzzle so we’ve had to delay our launch date just a smidge anyway. So, I’m just hanging out for September, and so I’ll put that time to creating content for…
The TV Show
My TV show! Most TV shows now (at least the ones for kids) require an online component. Seeing as the YouTube videos were not that successful (even my new, higher quality one), it’s looking like the way to go now is something interactive. So, that’s what I’ll be working on in September and October (and, well, I’ve started on it a little already). This new interactive element is going to be something like a game and something like a tour of the series to future fans and investors alike. So here goes. Oh, and the comic is on hold because, let’s face it, I need to focus. I have the other animator working on the comic, so the game is all up to me.
The Company
I’ve been going to more meetups, and while, I’ve gotten a good amount of advice, I haven’t had much luck getting the new contacts to respond to my follow-up emails. Anyway, I do have a bit of advice I can act on. It’s mostly about persistence but also contacting companies that might not seem directly related to what I want to do. Since I want to make a TV show, I’d only been calling TV companies, but I’ve left out broadcasters, networks, and those people who seem to invest in a mish-mash of everything. Alrighty then. Now I’ve got a much bigger pool of people I can contact. Onward!
Goal for September: FOCUS! Make that interactive program.
