Our geeky question of the week is what is the best geeky resource and why? Our fantabulous commentators weigh in (and so can you).
Tamara: I would say meetup.com. It’s a good way to meet people who share your interests. Also, just being part of a meetup group means you get email notifications of all the relevant events going on in your area, many of which you might not have even heard of. There ARE resources out there. Meetup.com can help you find them.
Steve: www.techmeme.com and the entire network connected to it – medigazer, memeorandum, etc. It gives you pure associated NEWSFEEDS.
Bonnie: LinkedIn is the best resource for careers, period. You can search for companies, for career areas, and so forth, and it makes it easy to connect with people who can help you. For tech news, I like CNET, especially their iPhone app which gives you alerts whenever something major breaks (like Amazon's announcement of a tablet). And for anime/manga news, I still rely on good old Anime News Network, still the go-to resource for all kinds of Japanese pop culture (and they did great work after the earthquake in March).
